Sunday is better with cold water?

Considering that today is Sunday, it's a sort of gender-bender themed month, and I can't seem to stop talking about the anime Ranma 1/2, I figured that I would attempt to get it all out of my system in this post for one of the most worthless days in existence.

Anime:

This 23 episode set comes with remastered visuals in the original aspect ratio, and comes in a beautiful box set with a new illustration from Rumiko Takahashi.

Rumic World

This is a fandub that I found yesterday, of the original animation that celebrated Rumiko Takahashi's hit anime series that include: Ursei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, and Inuyasha. What, no love for Maison Ikoku? Anyways, There was an OVA created for each one of these shows, and you can youtube them if you so desire. The Ranma one is titled: Ranma: Nightmare! Incense of Spring Sleep.

Akane, Ranma, Shampoo

Cosplay:

Lost-Lolli posted a photo that Chou-wa Photography & Cosplaytook for an upcoming book titled "Breaking All The Rules: Cosplay and the Art of Self-Expression." For more photos of this set that was based on the 2nd anime movie, Nihao my concubine, as well as an explanation of Lost-Lolli's artistic choices for her Shampoo costume, .

Movies: There were two anime movies created. One was Big Trouble in Nekonron China, and the second one was Nihao my Concubine. There was a 3rd film theatrically released, but that was collected in the OVa boxset.

Also, a couple of years ago there was one live action special made for Television.

I personally am hoping that one of two things happen after Ranma is re-released in North America. 1: More products based on Ranma will start to spring up, pun intended, and 2. Maybe Ursei Yatsura can get some love? AnimEigo could re-release the now out of print Ursei Yatsura DVDs and slap on a sticker saying "From the creator of Ranma 1/2," at the very least.

Oh, and since I'm going to try and not post any more Ranma, this might be my only chance to post this video:

Anyways, hopefully some of what is above will give you an idea of what to do this Sunday! Enjoy!
